All About Food

A true Malaysian will
start each conversation with a reference to food.
Have you eaten?
What did you eat?
I ate..
What shall we eat?
A true Penangite, does just that, in a more concentrated dose.
Everytime I leave our island, whether for months or a few days
I come home with this need
to really makan "Penang Food"
Arriving last night, I didn't even go home first.
I went to tapau my chicken rice.
And the only reason I got to work early this morning
was so I could eat Hokkien mee first.
So just now, I felt bad
for being on a neverending carb laden food oddysey
so I went to the market
bought pears apples oranges bananas
vanilla yoghurt
and chicken from the chicken rice man
who gave me a quizzical look when I said
"no rice, no sauce, no chili, no cucumber, no skin, no bone"
Then I chopped it all up,
and emptied the yoghurt over everything.
Chicken and fruit salad.
Light & Healthy!
uh-huh
Butta should be patting me on the back right about now..

and howsabout an affogato mocha for dessert, since you've been such a good girl?

Apparently Starbucks are offering affogato ice-blended for a limited time only - but it's nothing like the real thing of course :P

*heheh* I'm not offering you ice-blendeds, am offering the REAL affogato.

You could probably just make it yourself at home, it's that easy. You need dark rum tho, not the clear bacardi :P

Try having conversations with more than 2 serani's during whatever meal...the conversation will upgrade itself to the finer points shitting, shit, the formation, colour, texture and all round wholesome comments about it...

Next time you are trying to decide between the valley and the island; keep in mind that island got lobster, but the valley has an affogato with your name on it :P
