Beef Stroganoff goes with rice NOT fettuccine.
Try fettuccine with a lamb and porcini mushroom sauce. The essential thing is to drain the pasta and mix it in the pan with the sauce before serving. This should continue to cook on a high flame for at least a minute to allow the pasta to absorb the flavour of the sauce. In this case serve with a few drops of extra virgin olive oil and pecorino cheese shavings...

I'm cooking, so Beef Stroganoff with whatever I feel like serving. Though I do prefer it with rice, but we were all riced out.
I do normally fix the pasta into sauces first to absorb flavour. Lamb?How?
